RV Holiday Decorating

RV Holiday Decorating

Note: Be sure to visit the other links below for more of the “Christmas in the Camper 2017” series. We are one of 15 RV bloggers participating! You may think RVers would not decorate much for the holidays. Before we moved into our travel trailer full time, we downsized a lot. We did keep a few small bins of decorations (mostly unbreakable ones.) If you visit or camp at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground, you will see how some campers actually…

Snowbirding

Snowbirding

Craig and I have been having a great time here at Walt Disney World. Other than the stolen bike incident and a lot of Lake Midges due to tons of rain, it has been fun! Craig has been doing some seasonal work for Disney PR and I have been working on a long term research project.  During our free time we swim, bike and walk a lot in the parks. Food and Wine has been going on at Epcot and…

Whirlwind!

Whirlwind!

So it has been a whirlwind three weeks, but we are finally settling in. Our road trip down to Florida was beautiful even though it was rushed. I am so glad we saw Shenandoah, the Great Smoky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Savannah and Charleston! I can highly recommend all of them.  There were some hiccups along the way. We hit a huge pothole in NJ that cost us $400+ due to a back wheel issue. We could not fit…

We have been sharing our east coast road trip pictures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Follow along by clicking to the left or towards the bottom on mobile! Seeing a ton of amazing sites, but at a fast pace. We pick up our RV on 9/21 in Tampa!

Three More Days!

Three More Days!

Just three more days and we are off on our road trip to Florida. We are keeping a close eye on hurricane Irma and hoping she goes out to sea. We have a lot of friends and family in Florida and are pretty nervous right now. Our RV is sitting on a lot in Tampa, so our fingers are crossed it will weather the storm. As you can see from the pictures we have gotten rid of most of our…

Goodbye

Goodbye

Today Craig’s coworkers threw a really nice party to say goodbye. He has a few days left of work and then we get down to packing the last of our stuff and the truck! People are coming Labor Day weekend to pick up the couch, TV and table. Then it will really be empty in here! We loved all the cute decorations and food. The highlight was the camper cake our friend made.

Heading Out Soon

Heading Out Soon

So we are down to about 40 days until we head out to Florida to pick up the travel trailer!  It rolls off the production line at Grand Design on August 1st, and then goes through inspection before shipping off to Lazydays.   I have been bad about posting here on the blog since work is busy and nothing exciting is really happening. We are mostly packed except for what we are using. We have some furniture like our couch…

The Freedom Trail-Boston NHP

The Freedom Trail-Boston NHP

On Wednesday Craig had the day off so we went into Boston with friends to walk The Freedom Trail. We had walked it back in 2010, but did not have our national park passport book at the time. We wanted to get some of the stamps that we had missed before we move away.  The Freedom Trail is 2.5 miles long, so round trip it takes about 5 miles. We wound up walking over 10 miles though. We started…

Mysteries in Our National Parks Books

Mysteries in Our National Parks Books

I just saw these mysteries mentioned on one of my Facebook groups and I thought they looked great for young adult readers. Heck, I might read some of them! If you are going on a national park road trip or vacation with kids, it would be fun to get them a few of these. Here are some descriptions from Amazon: “In this fast-paced adventure, the Landons trail a wounded wolf in Yellowstone National Park. The park is abuzz with rumors…
